Meet Jaz, Co-Owner of Beauty Block
Jaz started lashing out of her kitchen in 2012 while working as a dental assistant. What began as a side hustle quickly grew into something much bigger. Today, she is the co-owner of Beauty Block, founder of Lashin Out, and a mentor to artists across the industry.
From Lash Artist To Business Builder
Jaz’s early days in the industry were busy, self-taught, and built through trial and error. At the time, there was far less education and support available for lash artists, so much of the learning process came through experience.
What kept her invested was not just the artistry, but the opportunity behind it. She loved the creativity and connection that came with working closely with clients, but also recognized the potential to build something that gave her more control over her future.
At one point, Jaz was fully booked and seeing up to eight clients a day. From the outside, it looked successful, but she realized she had built a demanding job rather than the scalable business and training academy she envisioned. That realization led to a major shift in focus.
Building More Than A Lash Business
Today, Jaz focuses on education, product development, team growth, and innovation. Through Lashin Out, she develops products designed to solve real challenges lash artists face, especially in areas like retention, efficiency, and eye health. Drawing from her background as a dental assistant, she also places a strong emphasis on lash hygiene and safe application practices.
Her approach to education is rooted in transparency and real-world experience. Rather than teaching artists to simply follow steps, she focuses on helping them understand why techniques, products, and systems work.

Building Beauty Block With Intention

From free UV lash training to advanced certification courses and workshops, education remains a major part of the studio culture. The goal has always been to create a space where artists can continue learning, growing, and supporting one another.

Today, one of her favourite parts of the business is watching other artists succeed. Seeing someone grow from uncertain and struggling to confident and fully booked is what she finds most rewarding.
